Lorna Grace - quick bio
Lorna Grace is an agribusiness finance specialist, and founder of her finance consulting company, Small Finance Big Change.
With a background in investment banking and microfinance, she has been exclusively working in agriculture finance since 2005 as both a project manager and a consultant. Lorna holds an MBA from University of Alberta and a BA from Harvard and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
She has authored or contributed to a number of studies and books including, Financing Agriculture Value Chains – LAC, Access to Finance for Smallholders, Analyzing Costs, and Savings Services for the Poor. Lorna has also developed and taught costing analysis and farm cash flow courses at Boulder Microfinance in Italy, the Netherlands and Latin America.
Currently Lorna consultants on agriculture finance projects in Ghana, Rwanda and Nepal, developing financial products for equipment and production finance. In total she has worked in more than 40 countries across the world.
Lorna is an avid gardener (of course!) and mother to a teenage son, living in Vancouver, BC.

Lorna Grace holds an MBA and is a CFA with 15 years of experience in rural economic development and agribusiness/finance. A project director and technical analyst, Ms. Grace has implemented and advised on rural and agriculture development projects worldwide.
Ms. Grace has also developed two tools for agribusiness financial evaluation, including the farm planner tool which measures and analyzes cash flows of short and long-term farm investments, and manages up to 35 crop production costs synchronizing them over time. She has conducted several value chain finance studies, with an equal emphasis on both demand and supply sides. Known for her creativity and practical approach to achieving goals as well as her in depth knowledge of agriculture, fisheries and livestock cycles and associated agribusinesses, Ms. Grace is a seasoned professional, dedicated to providing support and choice to smallholders and agribusinesses.
